For GCDS families, alumni, and parents of alumni
Country Day is excited to introduce Tiger Journeys—opportunities for travel and learning programs for GCDS families, alumni, and parents of alumni during our spring break and summer months. These trips are planned and run by expert trip designers with companies that have had over 50 years of experience and are nationally recognized as “best tour operator” and “best safari outfitter” by readers in Travel and Leisure magazine. Destinations for upcoming trips include Cuba, Greece, Costa Rica, Tanzania, and Utah.
Upper School International Trips
For Upper School Students
Students in the Upper School have the opportunity to participate in summer trips led by our World Language. These language immersion trips are a wonderful way for students to broaden the cultural knowledge and improve their language skills. This year our students have the opportunity to travel to Cuba, Italy, Martinique, or Peru.
Additionally, China trip led by history teacher Jack Jepson offers ninth graders and their families a chance to be part of a 10-day, eye-opening exploration of this important country's past and present.
Alumni Service Trips
For the past three summers, GCDS alumni have had the opportunity to participate in service trips led by GCDS math teacher and community service coordinator Jen Donnalley. The trips have included installing solar panels in Tanzania, installing clean stoves in Peru, and building a school in Peru.
Faculty/Staff Service Trips
For the past two summers, GCDS faculty and staff have had the opportunity to participate in service trips during the summer. Led by Jen Donnalley, these trips to Kenya have focused on assembling wheelchairs with Walkabout Foundation and installing solar systems with Napenda Solar.
