The following is a list of volunteer opportunities open to everyone.

Note: if you are part of the GCDS community, please click here for GCDS sign-up links.

Kids in Crisis - make a meal and drop it off at the green KIC picnic table (1 Salem Street in Cos Cob). It will then be picked up by the KIC staff. If you are not in the GCDS community and want to prepare a meal, please email cpg@gcds.net and we can sign you up.

Order dinner from a restaurant to be delivered to Inspirica. They can no longer allow volunteers to cook and donate meals. If you are not in the GCDS community and want to prepare a meal, please email cpg@gcds.net and we can sign you up.

Share your voice and help drive innovation in voice technology through VocalID. This requires a parent to sign a waiver.

Make Paracord Bracelets for our Troops and First Responders. Click on this link to learn how to make a paracord bracelet and get all the resources you need.

Download the Charity Miles App onto your smartphone. Turn on this app when you go for a walk. It allows you to choose from a variety of charities and ten cents is earned for every mile you walk. With the number of people I’ve seen walking the past few days, this could be HUGE!

Apply for an online volunteer job for the United Nations. Click here for volunteer opportunities.

Pillows for Necessities. Each month GCDS delivers bags to Greenwich Hospital for an organization called Necessities for women who are having mastectomies. One of the items in the bag is a pillow that can be used for greater comfort across the chest when using a seatbelt. If you like to sew, click here for instructions. Once you have made a bunch, please email cpg@gcds.net and we’ll schedule a time for you to drop them at the front door of the GCDS Middle School.

Transcribe an original, historical document in the Smithsonian’s collection and help make it accessible to all students around the world. Click here to register.

Donate to the Greenwich COVID19 Community Relief Fund. GCDS has a goal of raising $25,000 for this fund. Click here to donate.
