Welcome to the Upper School
Life in the Upper School at Greenwich Country Day is filled with the excitement of new opportunities and responsibilities. Our teachers know that our students are at a critical juncture in their educational journey. They need to be challenged, but they also need to enjoy school and feel connected.
Through a combination of small classes and individual relationships with dedicated teachers, GCDS "fosters a love of learning that endures."
When students trust their teachers and are invested in their work, they can perform at their highest level. Even a short visit to the Upper School reveals a unified commitment to high standards for academic achievement and for personal character.
We encourage our students to pursue their passions both inside and outside the classroom. We are a community of artists, athletes, actors, musicians, and scholars. We foster a sense of responsibility through service on campus, and to the greater community.
The culmination of the Upper School is a ninth-grade year filled with leadership opportunities. Our graduates are not only self-directed learners, but also on their way to becoming thoughtful global citizens. Spend even a small amount of time on campus and you will feel our "Tiger Pride."
