"Some of the best teachers I've ever had were the teachers I had at Greenwich Country Day. I went to Cornell twice, and still, honestly, some of the best teachers were at GCDS. A lot of them really go above and beyond and become mentors."- Field Failing, GCDS Class of '97

Great teachers know that connecting with a child's curiosity is the key to motivation. They know that sometimes the best answer they can give is a question: What do you think? How would you figure this out?
GCDS teachers constantly look for better ways to engage each of their students. They spend time sharing ideas with one another and researching the best ways of teaching and learning from around the world—all with the goal of bringing out the best in each child and of fostering a love of learning that endures.
Our teachers help students develop the confidence to handle challenging assignments, the responsibility to make thoughtful choices, and the knowledge and skills to succeed throughout their lives.
At GCDS, your child will be known and will be loved. Teachers will know your child beyond math or science class, for our teachers are there coaching on the field, gathering an advisory group at recess, cheering in the audience, and working side by side with students on community service trips. They are role models and mentors. It is their care and encouragement that alums remember most about their time at GCDS.
Join us on campus and see first-hand how our teachers inspire joyful learning and help students build the skills for success!
