Grandparents Day

Each May, we welcome grandparents and grandfriends to spend time on our campus to explore classrooms, view concerts, and spend time getting to know GCDS.

May 9 & 10

The Festival of the Arts

Once a year in the Spring we celebrate the culmination of our arts program with a week-long showcase on both of our campuses. Visual Arts pieces are displayed throughout the Old Church Road and Stanwich Road campuses and live performances from our Performing Arts students take place in our Performing Arts Center.

Entire Month of May

Spring Fair

On a Friday afternoon in May, the entire Country Day community gathers for games, food, and festivities. The Fair takes place rain or shine. Older classes help with games for younger grades and family volunteers coordinate and staff booths.

May 17

Annual Head of School Address

In early fall, all parents/guardians, faculty, and staff are invited to the Annual Head of School Address. This event includes messages from the Head of School and the President of the Board of Trustees, welcomes new parents, and celebrates both the opening of school and those faculty and staff who have completed their 25th year of service to GCDS.

Walkathaon

Fundraising for the larger community is intentionally engrained in many of our traditions and celebrations. Our anchor fundraising event, Walkathon, is spearheaded by our Center for Public Good and allows us to give back in an impactful and meaningful way. Hundreds of community members gather to walk for a different cause each year and be a part of a large philanthropic effort.
