Transportation

GCDS students are encouraged to travel by bus to foster friendships and age-appropriate independence, and to reduce pollution and congestion on campus. Families may have different bus options depending on where they live and desired after school destination. Students must be at least five years of age to ride the bus. A pre-kindergarten student may ride the bus when he/she is accompanied by an older sibling on the bus.

The Town of Greenwich provides free morning and afternoon bus service to those students who are Greenwich residents and reside one-mile or more from campus. Student pick-ups and drop-offs are located at designated hub stops. Prospective parents may check the Town bus routes, stop times and locations for morning and afternoon, or use this morning or afternoon interactive map to find the nearest stop. For any Town bus questions, please contact Michael Reynolds, Director of Safety, at mreynolds@gcds.net.

In addition to Greenwich Town Bus options, GCDS offers morning Tiger Bus service from Belle Haven, Old Greenwich, Riverside, Darien and Stamford. Afternoon service departs campus at 2:50 p.m. to select areas including Cos Cob, Binney Park, Old Greenwich, Greenwich YMCA, Greenwich Library, Chelsea Piers, Greenwich Boys and Girls Club, and Stamford. For further information on the Tiger Buses please email tigerrides@gcds.net. Students who reside in Westchester County within 15 miles of GCDS may be able to utilize their town provided bus service.
