Debbie Blake Kerrick Theatre
Debbie Blake Kerrick will forever be remembered as a pillar of GCDS. Whether teaching to a student with natural stage presence or the most reluctant actor, Ms. Kerrick has been able to nourish a deep appreciation of the arts for generations of Tigers.
She is a master teacher, a tremendous colleague, a gracious leader, and a forever friend—simply put, a once-in-a-lifetime influence.
From holiday concerts, to near-Broadway productions, to teaching the school song each year, there is a long list of GCDS moments that are hard to imagine without Ms. Kerrick at the helm.
Alumni, parents of alumni, former faculty, and our current GCDS community can all surely share a memory of Ms. Kerrick, and taken together these memories make up a lifetime of impact.
In honor of Ms. Kerrick’s retirement, her 33 years of excellence in teaching, and the indelible mark she has left on our community and our school, please join us in making a gift to support the arts at GCDS - designation Debbie Blake Kerrick Theater. Your gift will help GCDS continue to deepen and expand our arts program, for nursery to senior year.
To recognize all that Ms. Kerrick has accomplished, we are thrilled to announce that the theater in the Performing Arts Center on Old Church Road will be named the Debbie Blake Kerrick Theater. We are excited to carry on Ms. Kerrick’s legacy in this way and share her spirit for years to come.
