Cooper Taylor, a senior at Greenwich Country Day School, has been named one of 300 scholars in the 2026 Regeneron Science Talent Search (Regeneron STS), the nation's oldest and most prestigious science and math competition for high school seniors.

Taylor was recognized for his innovative research project titled "Lightweight Modular Dual-Tilt VTOL UAV: Design, Validation and Long-Endurance Performance." His work demonstrates exceptional promise in aerospace engineering and unmanned aerial vehicle technology.

As a Regeneron STS Scholar, both Taylor and Greenwich Country Day School will receive $2,000 in recognition of this outstanding achievement.

This latest honor adds to Taylor's impressive record of state and national recognition, including a Grand Award at the 2025 Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), 2nd Place at the National Junior Science and Humanities Symposium, first place and multiple awards at the 2025 Connecticut Science & Engineering Fair, and the Congressional Award Gold Medal for his scientific research and community service. Taylor will attend Harvard University in the fall.

The 300 scholars were selected from thousands of applicants nationwide based on their outstanding research, leadership skills, community involvement, commitment to academics, and creativity in asking scientific questions. The scholars hail from 203 American and international high schools across 34 states, Washington D.C., and China.

"The Regeneron Science Talent Search provides students a national stage to present original research and celebrates the hard work and novel discoveries of young scientists," according to Society for Science, which administers the competition.
