GCDS Boys Varsity Lacrosse captured back-to-back FAA regular season and tournament championships, defeating Hamden Hall 10-4 in the FAA Championship game on May 14.  William Bugbee ’28 was excellent in goal, while Vinny Maresca ’27 and Eli Thurer ’26 anchored the defensive end. Offensive contributions came from Conor Joyce ’28, Ciaran Joyce ’29 Winston Rose ’26, Henry Fisher ’28, and Mason Coleman ’29.

"This was a challenging, but awesome year where our true colors were both challenged and revealed," said head coach Andy Copelan. "We graduated 18 seniors, had the pressure of following a 16-0 season, intentionally upgraded our out-of-conference schedule, and dealt with numerous injuries. The resiliency these guys showed was simply remarkable."

Director of Athletics Tim Helstein noted that the team's success extended beyond the FAA. "The strength of schedule was increased to take on some of the top programs in New England and beyond. The team took on the challenge and found victories against storied programs. It was in those contests that the fabric of the team was truly tested, and without fail, the wisdom and guidance of the coaches and camaraderie and skill of the boys prevailed."

The senior class won three championships in four years and graduates as the winningest class in program history with 50 total wins.
